Glacial morphology, Quaternary, Pindos, GreeceAbstract
Placed in the Northern part of Pindos Chain, Greece, Timfi Massif (2 480 m) shows several well preserved glacial forms of Würmian and Late- Würmian age. The altimetric distribution of the moraines of Timfi allows to outline five stages; the first on could be referred to the main glacial advance (Würm), while the other ones to the subsequent retreat phases. The Snow line altitude can be estimated at about 1700 m a.s.l. during the maximum advance, and at about 1825, 1950, 2000 and over 2100 m a.s.l. in the successive stages.
