Contributo alla conoscenza della sedimentazione delle alluvioni quaternarie del Fiume Foglia (Marche)
A contribute concerning the sedimentary phenomena in Quaternary alluvial deposits of Foglia River (Northern Marche)
Keywords:
Continental sedimentation, 14C dating, MarcheAbstract
Some depositional hypothesis with radiometer datings of a fossil wood (Ulmus) (10.090 ± 80 Y.B.P.) discovered 11,5 m deep in alluvial sediments of the Foglia river, have been expressed. Through laboratory tests as with oedometer compression, the range of preconsolidation pressure, have been obtained. Results shown indicate a Holocene erosion phase which removed a part of the terrace, where the wood was deposited. A successive sedimentary cycle has accumulated new alluvial sediments.
