I terrazzidella bassa valle del Fiume Lamone (Romagna)
Lamone River valley terraces (Romagna, Italy)
Keywords:
Alluvial terraces, Neotectonics, Northern ApenninesAbstract
The poligenic terraces of the Lamone River valley near Faenza (Romagna, Italy) and their geomorphological characters (convergence points and gradients, reciprocal relations) are analyzed in order to point out neotectonic aspects. The Lamone area represents a sector with a strong recent (Middle to Upper Pleistocene) tectonic activity: the tilting of the terrace surfaces is more than two times higher than in adjoining areas (Savio, Marecchia) along the Apennine thrust front.
