Average annual and monthly temperature in the Po River valley and consequent physical parameters

Abstract

On the basis of the minimum and maximum daily temperatures of the thermometric stations in the Po Valley, relevant to the year 1970, the thermic average annual gradient and its annual cycle, based on the altitude, the number of days without thaw, with and without frostiness, in function of the annual and monthly average temperatures and the altitude, have been determined. Also, the number of days with an average temperature greater than or equal to 10 °C, in function of the average annual and monthly temperatures, and the altitude as well as the annual variation of the average monthly temperature in function of the average annual temperature and the altitude have been determined. The relevant regressions have been calculated by the method of the minimum squares and the obtained functions have been represented by cartesian diagrams, in order to allow the computation of the parameters in places without thermometric stations.
