Esempi di morfoneotettonica nelle dolomiti occidentali e nell’appennino modenese

Some examples of neotectonic deductions based on studies of morphotectonics are here illustrated. There are three phases of formulation. The first phase consists of the census of morphological units deduced from aerial photographs scale 1:66000. It is not considered the genetic aspect of the morphosculptures counted, so as to start from a document as objective as possible and therefore uniform for all the area. A second phase consists in the selection based on geological documentation, of the landforms due to inactive tectonics or rather to passive structure: that is, the morphosculptures related to selective erosion are eliminated as this is inversely proportioned to neotectonic activity. During this phase also the problem of the genesis of the morphological units counted is considered. A third phase consists of checks or surveys, so as to find out whether the morphosculptures have an effective neotectonic cause. In conclusion a map of morphoneotectonic synthesis is produced. Examples regarding three areas are illustrated, two in the Dolomites and one in the Modenese Apennine.
